Defense Objective 02: Lock Down the Network
Title: How a Gaming Company Keeps Its U.S. Offices Securely Connected to the Cloud

Mission Context: NovaGaming Studios runs its core game services in the cloud, but it also operates physical offices in Los Angeles, Seattle, and New York. These offices connect to the cloud to manage players, fix bugs, release updates, and support operations. If even one connection is insecure, hackers could use it to breach the cloud network, tamper with the game, or steal player data.
Your Task as a Cybersecurity Engineer:

-
Create Secure Tunnels: Build encrypted pathways (like invisible pipes) between each office and the cloud.
-
Verify Office Access: Only trusted offices and devices can access the cloud systems.
-
Segment the Network: Design the network so that if one office is compromised, it doesn’t affect the others.
-
Monitor Behavior: Watch for unusual traffic or patterns from any office connection.
Why This Defense Objective Matters: If office connections aren’t secured:

-
Hackers could gain remote access to game servers
-
One breach could spread through the whole system
-
Confidential game data and player information could be stolen or modified
Your mission: Understand how secure networking works across multiple locations and prepare to defend NovaGaming’s national office infrastructure.
